It was in 1994, while looking for a headquarters for my publishing company that I fell in love with a most unusual mid-rise office building. Built for Cannon Films, it was graced with features rarely seen in commercial structures, such as flower balconies with windows that open and its own parallel street set away from busy traffic. Yet, most intriguingly, it was the only Los Angeles office building designed so celebrities and producers could park their cars by their upper office floors without waiting in elevator lobbies.
The mid-rise’s elegant three-story atrium, intimate lobbies, fine appointments, and spectacular views made the Beverly Hills office buildings I had previously seen look as charming as high-rise penitentiaries. Captivated, I wed the beautiful building on the spot. Eventually I sold my publishing company, but I kept “the beauty.” I’ve been continuously upgrading her to turn it into the unique boutique office building. It is now a place honored by the Beverly Hills times, where museum quality art feels at home, and blessed by happy tenants and a waiting list of new ones.
